NBA pals: Justin Bieber sat courtside with Rihanna at the NBA All-Star basketball game in Los Angeles while the Rude Boy singer wasn't performing in the stadium


Life couldn’t get much better for superstar Justin Bieber and this weekend proved no different as he sat courtside during an NBA All-Star basketball game next to Rihanna.

Having the best seats in the house meant the 16-year-old was able to throw the ball around with the players and sit side by side with Rihanna when she wasn’t performing at the event.

It wasn’t just an all-star game at Staples Center in Los Angeles, but it also marked the Rude Boy singer’s 23rd birthday, who put on a raunchy show at half time.

After the R&B star cavorted on stage in a skimpy outfit though, she changed back into a more appropriate ensemble of trousers and a knit top to hang out with Bieber.

The pair giggled together as Justin showed Rihanna something funny on his phone and ate popcorn as they enjoyed the game.

The stars were watching the final event of the All-Star competition between the Eastern and Western Conference, with the West team winning with a score of 148-143.

Just a couple of days earlier, Bieber had also played as part of the West team, which was coached by Magic Johnshon, and the pint-sized singer managed to be named the Most Valuable Player.


Star-filled: The NBA All-Star game was attended by many celebrities including Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber and Lenny Kravitz


The 5’5” Baby singer played alongside Rob Kardashian, Chuck star Zachary Levi, rapper Common, Modern Family actor Ty Burrell, actor Jason Alexander and rapper Lil’ Romeo.

His West team lost 49-54 to the East Conference side but was still honoured for scoring eight points.

Also at the game was superstar Beyonce, who was a classier guest and lit up with room with an incredible pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.

The singing sensation brought the glamour to the celebrity filled Los Angeles stadium donning a pair of sparkling seven-inched platform heels.

The famous red-bottom heels stood out as stars from all arenas converged on California for the fun-filled weekend.

Beyonce was joined by her husband Jay-Z who kept his sunglasses on throughout the game.

Other celebrities who attended the final event of the All-Star weekend was John Legend and his model girlfriend Christine Teigen who was very animated during the game.

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was greeted by Kiss front man Gene Simmons.

And in a seating arrangement not to be seen very often - Arnie's wife Maria Shriver and her son Christopher Schwarzenegger watched the game sat next to gangster rapper Lil Wayne.

Actor Dustin Hoffman and Aerosmith lead singer turned American Idol judge Steven Tyler was also in attendance.

Melanie Fiona - Sang the Canadian Anthem at the game, but the big performance of the event was Rihanna's, who marked her 23rd birthday with a provocative show that shocked the audience.

Rihanna wore a crystal-covered basque and fringed hotpants and accented the outfit with fishnet stockings to finish off her look.

She performed a medley of her hits to close out the annual basketball event.

This is not the first time Rihanna's over-sexed performances has drawn disapproval.

She caused controversy in the UK late last year when her performance on the hit reality show X Factor caused 4,500 people to complain to the television watchdog OFCOM.

Her performance was called 'disgusting' and is being investigated by authorities as to ascertain if it was too sexualised to be broadcast on a show with very young fans.

The Only Girl in the World singer was joined on stage at last night's basketball event by Kanye West who wore an all red outfit including shiny pants that were extra snug.

Canadian rapper Drake also took to the stage to perform his verse on Rihanna's hit song What's My Name?

Meanwhile, Eminem is set to join Bieber as one of only three people to reach a billion views on YouTube.

Although Bieber still remains YouTube’s top star with over 1.3billion views, Eminem has become the third person in history to achieve the milestone alongside Lady Gaga.

The Recovery star is just ahead of Rihanna, who is set to break the billion view milestone on YouTube within the next two weeks.
