Baby it's cold outside! Natalie Portman and her fiancé Benjamin Millepied head out for lunch in New York

Natalie Portman is one of the most recognised faces in Hollywood after winning a Golden Globe earlier this year.

But the Oscar nominee, who is expecting her first child later this year, was barely recognisable yesterday as she headed out for lunch with her fiancé Benjamin Millepied.

The 28-year-old Black Swan star was so wrapped up to protect her from the chilly New York weather that you could hardly see any skin - just the top of her nose peeking out from behind dark sunglasses.

The happy couple, who announced their engagement and baby news over the Christmas period, strolled hand in hand down the snow covered side walk in the West Village neighbourhood where they live.

Natalie kept her bump snug in black leggings, a thick wool trench coat, over sized black scarf and woolly hat.

She also had on thing black gloves and rain boots.

Her fiancé Benjamin, 33, a dancer and choreographer at the New York City Ballet looked much more relaxed about the cold weather in slim fit jeans and a light weight fleece.

It has been an astonishing few months for the actress whose film Black Swan started the year at the number one spot at the U.S. box office.

She announced her engagement and that she was expecting her first baby in several months time before winning the Best Actress Award at the Golden Globes.

A few days ago she was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards which take place at the end of February.

Her new film No Strings Attached, which also stars Ashton Kutcher is currently in the number one Box Office spot with Black Swan still at number five.
