Edgy: Kim Kardahsian stepped out in a coffee-coloured frock for the Kitson fashion show in Los Angeles last week

She's fond of form-fitting frocks and showing some skin, so to see Kim Kardashian with a short hemline is not at all unusual.

But this time Kim went for something a little more edgier - in a dress that appeared to be made out of wet-suit material.

The reality star stepped out in the fashion forward frock for the Kitson show in Los Angeles, last week.

Flanked by her sister Kourteney, she strutted confidently down the street in the daring space-age creation.

Made out of synthetic rubber material, the fabric resembled that of a wet-suit.

Helping hand: Kim was spotted with her new assistant in tow
While the cut of the dress was beautiful with it's origami like folds, the bulky material tended to cause pesky creases.

But one thing that did work so well was the colour.

The caramel tones complimented the TV star's olive skin tone perfectly.

The socialite, 30, also kept the focus on the dress by keeping her accessories simple and slipping on just a pair of nude platform stilettos and a few gold bracelets.

Natural beauty: Keeping her make-up to a bare minimum, Kim went for a natural palette with simple eye make-up and nude lips.

Kim was also accompanied by her increasingly present assistant in tow.
Enjoying one of her favourite indulgences, ice-cream, the reality star looked satisfied.

After having some fun in the Californian sun, Kim's next stop was New York.
Happily back in the arms of boyfriend Kris Humphries - it looks like things could be getting quite serious.

The reality star shunned the celeb exodus to Texas for this weekend's Super Bowl and instead flew to New York to spend some time with her new man.
