Close call: This dedicated trainspotter is oblivious as a speeding passenger train hurtles towards him
As this dedicated trainspotter stood alongside a set of tracks with his video camera fixed on the approaching train, he forgot to do one thing - look the other way.
As these astonishing images show, the man came just inches from death as a passenger train hurtled past him.
The enthusiast is seen standing dangerously close to the tracks in order to get a close view of old steam train the Oliver Cromwell at Thurston Station in Suffolk.

A fellow trainspotter, who was filming in the opposite direction, caught the man on camera and yelled to him as he noticed the DMU passenger train rapidly coming up behind him.
But it was too late - and the train rushed past the oblivious man. Remarkably he remained standing as the train sent a rush of wind through his clothes.
Only once the train had gone by did the man realise just how close he came to death. With a dazed look on his face, he lowered his camera and stumbled away from the tracks.
